Hotel Indigo Athens

is an InterContinental Hotels Group property developed by Rialto Property Partners. Designed to LEED® Gold-Certification standards, the 130-room boutique hotel is scheduled to open in late summer 2009. Infused with a combination of green technology, upscale facilities, live music venues, art galleries, and cultured design, the Hotel Indigo is a complete boutique lodging experience.

The hotel was designed to reflect the unique character of its location in Athens, Georgia-–architects Surber Barber Choate Hertlein shaped the building to be reminiscent of the region’s covered bridges, Ellen Hanson Designs of New York gave the interiors a mix of “southern farmstead modern”, and Mercury Art Works of Athens added local artwork throughout the hotel. A joint venture development with Melaver, Inc. of Savannah, Hotel Indigo Athens was also made possible by JM Wilkerson Construction and with financing from BB&T and Rialto Hospitality Investment Group.
